Activities

"Heritage Days" in September pays tribute to farming's early beginnings from threshing to breadmaking. The event makes a fun outing for the whole family, easily followed by an interesting visit to the Whitemouth Museum.

Without question, the most intriguing feature of the RM of Whitemouth is the Whitemouth River itself.  It has a character like no other in Manitoba. One moment it is calm and silent, smooth and winding, the next it boils and bubbles as rock outcrops create rapids and waterfalls.

Great camping facilities await you for an overnight stay at Cooks Falls near Whitemouth.

Seven Sisters offers great wayside day outings.  Set up your own picnic, drop a line in the River, then gaze at the vistas overlooked by the Seven Sisters Hydro Dam and Winnipeg River.

Proof of the health of the Whitemouth River is its outstanding fishing.  Along with an abundance of game fish such as walleye, pike, sauger, rock bass and perch, three endangered species found nowhere else in Manitoba inhabit the system: the royface shiner, the horney head chub, and northern brook lamprey.
